FloatRun Harness

Personal Running Technique Coach
The quickest way to make softer, better, easier running form second nature –

LOOK GREAT – RUN FASTER – LAND SOFTER

Do you want to get faster, look amazing, and feel better while running?
The FloatRun Harness is a running form coach that comes with you every minute of every run until muscle memory takes over and faster, softer, better running form becomes automatic. It makes running more fun and is arguably the single most effective running technique training tool in the world.

  • Eliminates over-striding & dials in your best foot strike
  • Promotes efficient arm swing & improves posture
  • Quickens cadence

Here’s a quick video of how to use the FloatRun Harness

Origin of the FloatRun Harness

I first started using a device similar to this before my first marathon (as a ten year old) thanks to its inventor, Dr. Thomas S. Miller (author of Programmed to Run).
I’ve since spent most of my life studying & teaching running form. This is partially because my father, Hawk Harper, ran his whole career with no cartilage in his knee. In seven years he went from a 240 pound football player to a 2:22 marathoner, much of which he attributes to the efficient, “Kenyan-style” running technique that the FloatRun Harness helps teach.
After decades of teaching running form, it became obvious to me that much of what I teach is forgotten quickly, and people need a tool to use regularly to make great running form second nature. After many years of testing & tweaking, I’m proud to bring the FloatRun harness to market.

What makes the FloatRun Harness so effective?

The arm position promoted by the FloatRun Harness is the key to efficient running form, & either controls or contributes to the other key areas of great running form. It helps reduce inefficiencies & over-striding by helping fix the main mistakes made my most runners:

1) Too much arm movement (both forward & sideways)

2) Slow cadence (too slow of steps)

3) Broken posture and/or collapsed posture (Hips sitting back & shoulders hunched forward)

Excessive forward arm motion is a main cause of over-striding. Additionally, crossover gait and low cadence are linked directly to injuries like Runner’s Knee.1 The FloatRun Harness holds the arms in optimal, compact position with the wrists staying near the ribs (“wrists to ribs”).

Additionally, the Harness also keeps the shoulders back and encourages the elbows to pop back each stride, creating the “elbow window” behind the body.

In summary, the FloatRun Harness minimizes unnecessary arm movement, which instantly speeds up cadence (step rate). Additionally, popping the elbows back pushes the hips and chest forward, giving you proud, tall posture and opening up your breathing as well.

The result is a soft, bent knee landing with an optimal foot-strike for your genetics, whatever that may be. Compared to the way most are used to running, as this is mastered, it can provide the sensation of floating while running.
